Both escape wheels move simultaneously to engage the locking and impulse surface on the lever. Additionally, their metallic blue hue suggests Rolex has used silicon, taking on the natural escapement that was invented in 1789 by Abraham Louis Breguet.

However, this new escapement has achieved the one thing no other timepiece in our watch store has done; making it operable at industrial volume.
